He was raised and lived most of my life within 10 miles of the Highway Church. In 1965, he married Vera Hopper, who was actually born within 100 yards of the church building. They have two children, Stacy and Shannon, and five grandchildren. His occupation is electrical construction. He became an elder of Highway Church of Christ in March of 1987. The image he sees of a church leader is one whose life shows others in word, in song, and in deed that Jesus loves them. Servant leadership is about equipping, motivating, and encouraging others to be the best that they can be.
LEADERSHIP
We have loving elders, deacons and ministers actively involved in the lives of the people that create our congregation. Take a moment to get to know them. Pray for them. Thank them. The task of caring for God's people is a great and heavy opportunity.
Mike is married to Karen who is also Highway's secretary. They have four children (now eight counting sons and daughters-in-law), Dave & Liz, Betsy & Johnnie, Daniel & Kara and Sara and Davey. They also enjoy two grandchildren. The Chalenburgs have attended Highway since 1981, and Mike became an elder in 1994. A graduate of Harding University, Mike is the assistant vice-president for Information Systems and Technology at Harding University. He enjoys doing new things, which usually involve carpentry.
Dana McMillion
Dana is married to his high school sweetheart Debbie, who teaches kindergarten at Ward Central in the Cabot Public School District. They have six children including sons and a daughter-in-law, Bethany and David, Lindsay and Steve, and Travis and Stephanie. Dana is currently employed as the Maintenance Director at Harding University. He loves to play with his five grandchildren and enjoys working on his hobby farm. Dana and Debbie begain visiting Highway in 1998 when their children began attending Harding University. They moved to Arkansas in 2004 and Dana has been an elder since 2007.
Tony Coccia
Tony has been married to Sheryl Coccia since 1976. They have two children, Mike and Diana and 4 grandchildren. He is a retired veteran of 23 years in the Michigan Air National Guard and also served in the Federal Civil Service for 16 years. He participates in community service with Lions Clubs International. He is currently enrolled at ASU-Beebe studying Education.
Danny DeRamus
Danny DeRamus has been a member of Highway since 1986. He was a deacon for 8 yrs and has been an elder for 9 yrs now. Danny works as Director of Physical Resources at Harding University. Danny and his wife Robbie have three children: two girls who have graduated from Harding Uuniversity and a son who is a electrician. He enjoys going on the yearly mission trip to Nicaragua and working with the heart group leaders class.
